CHRISTINE HAGIWARA SAAB
Christine is a documentary filmmaker who works across TV and film. British Japanese-Lebanese, her work explores themes of identity, community and belonging in a fast-changing world. Although primarily a documentarian, Christine loves crafting a good story, no matter the genre. Her work has been screened at leading international film festivals such as Sheffield Doc/Fest, Aesthetica, Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, Visions du Réel, Encounters Film Festival, Thessaloniki International Film Festival, Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and London Short Film Festival. Her graduation film, In The Space You Left (2021) was nominated by the International Documentary Association for the David L. Wolper Award. In 2023, she was selected for Channel4's prestigious First Cut Pitch.
Christine is a graduate of The National Film and TV School and holds a BA in Social Anthropology from the School of Oriental and African Studies.
